Evening on the TRT

After working at the Incline store today, I went hiking with my friend Tony. We started at the Mt. Rose Summit Parking and hiked to the waterfall. It was starting to get dark, so we hustled down. It was great to get out and hike after work. I also enjoyed the company. Danielle has been busy with night school, so hiking with her will have to wait for the weekend.

Another day in the water.

Today I finished up the open water class. The student that had the problem yesterday didn't dive due to having a headache, we will finish him up another date. The other 7 students did great, the water was rough, there were white caps. All in all the class was a good learning experience, in the end it will make me a better instructor.

Scary Day

Today at Sand Harbor in Lake Tahoe I was teaching a scuba class. I had 7 students by myself. We did two dives that went fine, towards the end of the last dive, one of the students had a panic attack, he shot to the surface. I popped up and he was hyperventilating, I got him buoyant and tryed to calm him down. It didn't help he was having a hard time breathing, I signaled to the rest of the class to come up. I dragged him to shore got him out of his equipment, as I dragged him to shore a man called 911, we rested him and got him on 100% o2 by the time the ambulance showed up he was okay, they still did a full check up and he was fine. It was crazy, I did everything I was taught and I don't think it could of went any better. I am finishing up the class tomorrow. He will be back to finish. It should all be fine. I'll keep you all updated.

Hiking the TRT After Work

I finally got some hiking in after work today. I hiked the TRT form Tahoe Meadows towards Brockway, I went to the waterfall and back, a total of 4.9 miles in 1:15, I had never been on this section of the trail, it was a mellow hike the waterfall isn't going to be running much longer. Get out there while you can.

Time Flys

Sorry for not posting in the last 10 days. I have been really busy with work and I am teaching a scuba class. I haven't done much in the last week. Hope to do something soon, I am diving all weekend with my class, at least I am outdoors.

Busy Day

Today was busy we started the day off with visiting Josh and Mitchell the dog we found. I was the one that returned him, so Danielle wanted to meet him and make sure he was worthy. She saw he was a great person, and she got to see the dog.

Then we went Golfing at Wildcreek with Ginger and Janet. I played like crap like normal. But it's still fun to get out side with family.

Then off to Rich and Mavy's to measure their roof. Dave and I are going to redo his roof before next winter. The back is starting to curl.

After that we were off to Danielle's Grandmas to visit and pick up some old things, she was giving away. All in all it was a good day just long and busy.

Snow in June

We couldn't buy snow this winter and last night it snowed up in the hills. The temperature was about 30 degrees cooler in one day. It should start to warm up soon, it's just a slap in the face.

Reunited

So you've read how we found this dog, now I'll tell the rest of the story. Sunday we made 50 flyer's, I went all over the area we found the dog and posted found dog signs.
The dog was so well behaved that we couldn't put him into a shelter. We started to treat him as he were are own. We took him on walks and played ball with him. He ended up staying with us four nights,
This morning as I was walking out the door for work. I get a call on my cell phone it's the dogs owner, he describes him perfect, I tell him I have his dog in my garage and he starts to cry, he tells me the dogs name is Mitchell, we set up a meting place. As I pulled up he started to cry, I open the door and the dog jumped into his arms. He moved to Reno two days before the dog took off, he has only lived on a ranch were he was free to roam, and he is now fenced in a backyard. When the owner was out the dog jumped the fence and took off. He posted 1000 flyer's in the area were he lives but my flyer's were about five blocks west. He called all the shelters and the Humane Society saw a add we put in the paper and gave him my number, and the rest is history.
We are happy the dog is back with his owner. In the short amount of time we spent with the dog we started to get attached. We are going to miss him.

Mad Dash on Interstate 80

Tonight on the way home from the Silver Sox game. As we were getting on the freeway @ Keystone and 80 there was a dog running full speed in the center off the freeway. Danielle starts freaking out she dose not want to see anything happen to this dog. I pull behind it and turn on my caution lights. A few other cars start to do the same, as we slowed down I jumped out of the car without putting it in park, it started to roll so I jumped back in and called the dog. He jumped in my lap and over to Danielle, I stepped on the gas and went home. He was panting from running so much. We got him home put him on the side of the house with food and water. As I started posting him online Danielle looks out side and he was gone. He hopped the fence and was in the neighbors yard. I got him to come out the side gate, he is now resting in the garage. Hopefully we can find his owners tomorrow, if we have no luck we might bring him to the no kill shelter the SPCA. We named him Keystone after the onramp.

Reno Silver Sox

The 2006 Golden Baseball Legue Champs the Reno Silver Sox had a exibition game today against the Chico Outlaws. They won 8-5 it was only $2 bucks not bad for three hours of entertainment. Danielle and I went with My Aunt Ginger and Janet, We all had a good time, It rained on us a little bit but nothing to bad.
